Certified in Applied Medicine – Peptides

CAM-P

CAM-P v1.0 · Effective January 2025

The Certified in Applied Medicine – Peptides (CAM-P) credential recognizes foundational competency in peptide-based therapeutics as applied in clinical practice.

CAM-P is designed for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals working within applied clinical environments, including but not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, clinical operators, and allied health professionals.

Purpose of the Credential

The CAM-P credential validates that the holder:

  • Understands the clinical context in which peptide-based therapies are used
  • Demonstrates protocol literacy and safety awareness
  • Can interpret peptide applications within established care frameworks
  • Recognizes scope-of-practice limitations and escalation requirements

CAM-P does not certify prescribing authority and does not replace medical training, licensure, or board certification.

Core Competency Domains

To earn the CAM-P credential, candidates must demonstrate competency across the following domains:

1. Foundations of Peptide Biology

  • Peptide structure, signaling, and mechanisms of action
  • Differences between peptides, hormones, and biologics

2. Clinical Context & Indications

  • Common clinical use cases
  • Patient selection considerations
  • Risk factors and exclusions

3. Protocol Literacy

  • Understanding structured peptide protocols
  • Dosing frameworks (conceptual, not prescriptive)
  • Monitoring and response evaluation

4. Safety & Risk Management

  • Contraindications and adverse events
  • Documentation and informed consent principles
  • Escalation and referral thresholds

5. Ethical & Operational Considerations

  • Scope-of-practice awareness
  • Clinical oversight models
  • Integration into multidisciplinary care environments

Eligibility

Candidates must meet at least one of the following:

  • Licensed healthcare professional (MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, or equivalent)
  • Allied health professional working under clinical supervision
  • Healthcare operator or clinical staff working within regulated environments

Eligibility does not imply scope expansion.

Certification Pathway

The CAM-P credential follows a structured, defensible pathway:

Step 1 — Education

Completion of the Applied Medicine: Peptide Practice (Foundational) program.

Education is designed to prepare candidates for assessment but does not itself confer certification.

Step 2 — Assessment

Certification assessment includes:

A. Knowledge Assessment

  • Structured multiple-choice examination
  • Focused on safety, protocols, and applied understanding
  • No rote memorization or academic trivia

B. Applied Reasoning Scenarios

  • Case-based questions evaluating decision frameworks
  • Emphasis on risk recognition and escalation logic

Passing standard: Minimum competency threshold set by the College and reviewed periodically.

Step 3 — Attestation

Candidates must attest that:

  • They understand CAM-P does not grant licensure or prescribing authority
  • They will operate within their professional scope and applicable regulations
  • They acknowledge the College's standards and ethical framework

Step 4 — Issuance

Successful candidates receive:

  • Digital credential certificate
  • Credential ID number
  • Listing in the College's credential registry

Credential Validity & Maintenance

  • CAM-P is valid for 24 months
  • Renewal requires evidence of continued education or re-assessment under updated standards
